Really bright picture on tv

Sony support are useless so here I am.

The picture on my KD49X5008C is really bright and this carries across to netflix and youtube apps on the tv. Weirdly though when I cast video from youtube on another device to the tv it works perfectly fine. Also when I change the picture preset to GAME or Custom the picture isn't bright but there's a wierd black outlining/shading to the picture making it look cartoonish.

I've tried both hard resets and factory reset but these have done nothing.

I've noticed that when doing these resets the tv is still on the latest firmware uodate so does anyone know how to do a full reset?

Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions to fixing it?
