Sony Bravia 49X8305C - Arial Connection Required?

Hi, I have just ordered the above 4K tv and was wondering, do I have to connect an Arial cable for the tv to work correctly?

I don't wish to use free hd channels or recordings, I only want to use the tv for my consoles and cable tv box, essentially as a monitor, is that possible or will the TV require an Arial connection to operate.

Hi there

No, you dont have to connect the TV to an aerial if you dont require freeview broadcasts.

Upon saying that, if you need to use ITV Player or All4, you will need to tune st least one station in and enable YouView.

Other than that, plug your devices in and happy gaming/viewing.
