Got my xperia c4(E5363) this afternoon and noticed an issue with the proximity sensor. When I make a call and bring the phone near my ear, the screen becomes black BUT it does not recover even when I take the phone away from my ear. It remains black only. Even pressing the power button does not help.

The only workaround is that I have to remove the sim, which causes the phone to reboot. Once its up, I need to shut it down again, re-insert the sim and restart.

pls help !!!

Can you check if the same occurs in safe mode?

/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008#U348008

Also,do you have a screen protector or a flip case?

It could be related to the screen protector, this has been noticed in the past on other devices. Now I can't force you to take it down.

yeah, that could be an issue. Anyways, given that I got the handset only yesterday afternoon, so I'll take it to sony repair center before removing the screen protecter. cheers.

I have a similar problem, except my screen protector was cut to be under the song logo on the front of the phone and not. over the proximity sensor.

When I make a call my screen blacks out. The only way for me to get it to come back on is to plug in the power cord and press the power button on the side. If the other party doesn't hang up, the call remains active.
