Parts of c5 ultra screen are unresponsive often

Many areas of the phone are unresponsive many times, mainly the area where the keyboard comes up. It doesn't only happen when I use the keyboard it also happens when I'm not using it. Should I take the phone to get serviced or what?

You could perform a test with the diagnostics.

Menu > Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Device Tests > Touch Screen

Let us know the results.

I just a test for the touch screen, I cleared the picture but then came back as failed with a red symbol with an exclamation mark.

If the issue is random, then it is more likely software based. This could easily be a third party application causing issues every so often. I would suggest trying a backup to the device and going through with a software repair.

However if you do not wish to perform this task, you could try removing some third party apps on the device to see if they were the culprit.

Im sure it's not a Software problem becuase its been happening randomly since I bought the device about two monts ago. Now it happens more frequently and makes me frustrated then I just put my phone down .

One thing to take in to account here, you may resolve the issue within 20 to 30 minutes with a software repair, where as sending the device away will take longer, so a software repair is the best course of action before taking it to a service agent.

Afternoon,
I've Just bought the Phone, today, to be more precisily, and have done the updated Android.
After that I am having the same issue on my touch screen.
Type some text is too dificult, when I put my finger, the screen reconizes the another letter, Ex: If I press the CAPS key, he types the letter A.
That issue is driving me crazy, but I do not know If its only in my Phone, or its a General problem.

Before that Phone, I have had a Motorola Moto X XT1058, and never had that problem...

How I fix that problem???

PS -> I'm from Brazil, pardon my bad english...

Have some update: I've downloaded Google Keyboard, and saw some improvement, it's not perfect yet, but, is so much better...

I think the native Keyboard software is broken, or something like that...

Whell, I Hope Sony hurry to fix it, otherwise that issue is going to a lot of owners of this phone model.

Waiting some official position...

Trust me i have tried many different keyboards myself (sony, google, ginger and AI) and still there is a very weak and/or dead spot on the right side of the screen where the keyboard overlays. it gets annoying when i try to delete something and i cant.

Funny, here is quite te oposite. The left side of my keyboard have these dead spot...
It's sad to see how this touch is imperfect, even using the Google keyboard, when typing something, he reads letters around, instead the letter you try to press. To type some text or using WhatsApp, I have to return and correct almost every word, or type very slow...

Sony, please, verify what is going on with our phones ...

I have problem in the keyboard of my xperia c5 ultra d nearly all the times when i writ the low right corner of the screen do not respond for many seconds nearly10 sec containing the main key the square so it is terrible problem i tried the gboard but the problem continue
And also my keyboard press without i put my finger three time and i have video for this by my friend camera i have bad feeling toward this phone 😥 pls fix those problems fast as possible

Yes and you can feel the problem when you need to turn the alarm off you need to swip many time to work

My C5 ultra screen ALWAYS does this, it is impossible to drag a letter in Words With Friends on the phone. i had to turn on Glove Mode and the screen responds much better, but after a while Glove Mode goes haywire and registers touches even when you don't touch the screen...very frustrating. I have since gone back to using my Xperia Z Ultra until I can fix this once and for all. Sony, please help!
