Wifi hangs up!

Hi there,

The wifi and charge hangs on my xperia mobile. What happens is, when I connect to wifi at home it works perfectly well, but when i reach to my work place and want to switch to my workplace wifi; the mobile doesnt get rid of my home wifi, it doesnt even forget it (connection hangs) thus not recognizing the new connection. I had to then shut it down and restart it. It is irretating everytime to get a connection. It also then hangs up frequently with the wifi and I have to again remind it by shutting it down.

Sometimes same thing happens with the charge. While it is on charge, it doesnt show me the exact charge done unless i shut it down and restart.

Just hoping that help is on the way.

Does the same issue happen while the phone is in safe mode?

I am unable to turn it into safe mode by following the instructions. It works till I <press and hold the on/off key> but it doesnt give me the <reboot to safe mode> when i hold the <poweroff> option for as long as 2 mins.

@Parv,

Try shutting the phone down completely then as it starts up, hold the volume down button until it is completely booted.

Ok, now i am able to turn it on safe mode. I will observe if there is any change and let you know. But this mode is not letting me use an app (probably a 3rd party app). I wonder if this will solve the problem when I turn onto the normal mode, or does this mean I have to get rid of that application?

Hi Cameron,

My mobile is on safe mode and again wifi has hanged up in 30 mins. Anything else that I should try?

@Parv,

Safe mode starts your handset with only the pre-installed apps loaded so we can test if it is an app that is causing the problem, as such you will not be able to use any of your downloaded apps in safe mode. It would appear the issue is not caused by a third party app in this case.

When you go to Settings > WiFi, are you able to tap and hold, and forget the networks that are having issues? Once forgotten, you can reconnect to them by re-entering the password.

@Parv, You can't even forget the network in safe mode?

You may have to perform a software repair.

Thanks, this helped me well. My mobile has not hanged up since morning as I updated it last night. Hope this continues.

It also re-newed my application and gave a whole new look to my mobile. Recommeding it for all!!!
