Certain Music tracks won't play.

Hey Guys,

I'm having problems playing music that's been transfered. The files play fine when they are on my laptop but once they have been transferred onto the phone i go into the Walkman and select a track. Some of them play and some of them don't. Any ideas?

Probably because the ones you can't play are in unsupported formats. What formats are these files? If you are unsure you can right click them in the computer and choose properties.

They are all MP3 Files.
They all play fine elsewhere.
But as soon as they are on my phone they won't play.

They are stored on an SD Card within the phone.

try playing using a 3rd party app from google play

or try using this to transfer your tracks to your phone

Thanks for the info.
I'm using Media Go to transfer.
Now I've put everything on the phone memory they all seem to be there and play. if

Yet if I put them on the SD Card that's when I start having problems.

do you have antivirus ram boosters battery savers or the like? please uninstall them

or did you install recently any apps that may affect the reading of the sd?

try to reformat your sd card

Nope don't have anything like that installed.
And no new apps.

Have also formatted the card as well.

have you tried using another sd card?

This is weird but it worked - i have a new toy which is a record player that converts my old vinyl records to mp3 - the xperia xz premium would not play any of them. it just skipped past them all . Tried several play store mp3 players and all the same. I changed the file extension of the music files on the laptop from dot mp3 to dot mpeg . then i copied the files across to the xperia music folder and windows 7 popup said do i want to convert the file(s) to mp3 for the device. I ticked yes to all and now every file plays copied across plays perfectly on the mobile.
