Xperia SP hard reset problem

Hi guys, I have got a problem with hard reset (volume up+power key combination). It does not work at all. I've waited pressing these buttons for about 1 minute and nothing happened. Also tried this when screen locked, when unlocked, when phone switched off. No change, no effect.

To soft reset an Xperia SP you have to remove the back cover of the phone. Then press the 'OFF' button with a tip of a pen (or something similar) for about 5 seconds.

The back side button to Hard reset isn't working either. The better solution is to remove the SIM Card and the touch screen will work (Incase touchscreen wasn't responding before) and then insert the screen and use Power off button & select the Power off option on the Display screen. Hope this helps.

hey buddy finally igot the solution

for hard reset...there is a different trick for reset...

1..open the back cover

2atthe bottom u see OFF ...

3 with match stick u have to hold down the hiden button

Xperia SP comes with a non removable battery.So turning off in this condition is not possible by removing battery.The volume up+power button doesnt work in Xperia SP unlike other phones.The solution is given below.

Remove the back cover of Xperia SP and look for a small yellow dot on mid bottom with “OFF” written below it. Check the image below.

Now “Press & Hold Down the OFF Button, using a tip of pen or any other pointed object for around 10 seconds”. Phones vibrates and will be switched off automatically. Check image below.

P.S. Don’t use very sharp objects as it may damage the OFF Button.

Now phone restarts.

After restarting we found that our Xperia SP got back to normal temperature and everything was fine. We were able to charge our Xperia SP again, device was cool.

I also faced the same issue and got solved with the solution given above.Hope it will work for you also

Saludos amigos , mi problema es que despues de instalar una app "audio beats" se reinicio el telefono y como veia que no era lo que buscaba lo desinstale y se reinicio aparece el logo de sony llega hasta la pantalla de inicio y de ahy se vuelve a reiniciar y ha entrado en un bucle de reinicio de nunca acabar, por favor necesito una ayuda de como volver a usar el telefono

So will this soft reset erase your data just like the factory reset?? And can do it if this phone facing with hang issue??

zulhamizan,doing this hard reset will NOT erase any of your data.It just reboot your phone.Yes,it can be used to solved hang issues.Mainly,it was used to free memory(RAM) used from RAM-hungry apps.

It will damage your back case cover tho if you remove it very often, because it is very fragile (hooks)

My sony xperia sp hving problem with volume key..when i listen songs using headphones volume automatically decreases to zero..when i increase volume again it decreases to zero..again and again .

I tried this method but its useless for me...

But i am unable to reset my sony experia sp
My sony expira sp is going reboot again and again continuously.
First expira logo coming after that color layer and again rebooting....
I am worried...
Please help me...

Amit are you sure your phone isn't just receiving messages? When any message, chat notification or any important notification appears, the volume of the walkman will reduce nearly to 0 and then back up. Depends on whether you have left the phone on silent then you wont hear anything, otherwise you will hear the notification chime!
