Have you let it charge for several hours before re attempting to turn it back on

It may also be that as a result of a total discharge you have damaged the battery so if the charging as per my beginning doesn't work then contact Sony for further help in regards to locating a Service centre http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

The charger light does not come on when plugged in to charge, have left the phone at home plugged in and hopefullly it will change and will look at it again at lunchtime.

I've left it plugged in for 4 hours, still nothing no light when charging, phone is as flat as a pancake, am imagining the battery knackered, any advice on that please, I have photos, contacts, diary etc on there that needs to be removed.

Looks like the battery is knackered

So you can either contact Sony to find your nearest service centre http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

or buy a replacement battery from eBay for example and then use this guide to replace it yourself

Thanks, I've purchased a battery and my oh is going to fit it so hopefully this will do the trick, am just concerned after reading some of the other comments on the forum that this was caused by the update 😕

Me too. battery run completely down overnight. Now I have it connected to the power cable. It turn on, last 5 secs, turn off again and keep turning on and off in a never ending loop. How fixed it?

I had the same endless loop, I tapped the phone on the table on different angles thinking the battery may have, Mabe come lose from its internal connection, it seemed to stop the loop, then I left it turned off while it charged all day, the red light was on n stayed on, it took all day to turn green, unplugged it be for turning it on, it works, but the battery shows unstable, jumping up and down 10 to 20 percent but worked fine until it got below 20 percent, n died, same system again to charge it. And works again. It now will hold charge while plugged in, but won't charge unless it's turned of, and still takes all day,

My xperia tl is having same issue, just started day before yesterday. now my wife's xperia tl is doing same this morning. had success yesterday resetting my phone and started charging, held charge until night. plugged in overnight and is drained to 25% battery. i did not let the battery fully discharge any time. the phone is 1 1/2 years old.

I have a charging issue with my xperia t aswell, when I plugged it in there is no lightning bolt through battery to indicate charge but when I turn phone off and plug it it the red led comes on and battery without lighting bolt but still charges

I have the same problem here my xperia T turns off with 5% now it wont tun on and it wont charge eigther i tried everything possible to get it back on but it wont no lights nothing. if i buy a new batterry wil it turn on?even if the pc doesnt make any sound of connection?i need some advice please thank you

I have the same problem, even bought a new battery and took it to specialists but so far nothing happening and it's like it just died but, when i bought the new battery it turned on with the power from the new battery but on exhausting the power it has gone dead again. Anyone with any final solutions?

I had the exact same problem with my XPERIA Z5 compact ... And solved it!

Battery was at 3%. Not charging. I decided to reboot, thinking it is a bug.

It didn't start again. Tried all chargers, cables. Power+volume UP, Power+Volume Down.

Called Sony support Switzerland. Amazing people. Best customer service ever.

"Sir, do you mind removing your SD card, your sim card, and trying to charge it?"

I worked. Instantely.

Hi, I want to publish my xperia t problem pleade suggest me.what to do.
When I plugin for charging, suddenly red light blinks.. then after 2 seconds screen open with red light but no sony display on the screen. Then screen off after 2-3 seconds. And it keep on going. Its not charging since so long. What to do please suggest.

Amazing this worked for me as well! Wan't charging with wireless jacket or direct usb (no red light). After removing sim and sd card the light came on after a couple of seconds!

The same problem happened to me, I removed the Sim and SD Card then charged it for about an hour when the red light lit up and my phone started to work again. So the Swiss solution seems like the best for me, hope it is gonna work in the future. I might have to order a new charger though.
