LT30 will not turn on & has green light?

Hi all,

My mobile started switching itself off yesterday, I thought it was a low battery at first so i threw it on charge. Now it won't turn on at all. The green light is on all the time, I can't get the computer to reconise the phone at all and when I call it, it goes staight to voicemail.

Any ideas anyone???

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Have you tried to force a restart/shutdown by holding down the ON/OFF + volume up(+) for 5-10 seconds? Do this when your phone is not connected to any kind of power source.

Yes, tryed that. No joy. With and without cable being pluged in. Tryed plugging it into my laptop and my PC, both do not reconise the phone.

Okay, I suggest that you try to perform a software repair on your phone via our program PC Companion:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

It will not let me complete the action. I can get the phone to shut down by following the instructions, but the minute I plug the wire into the phone the green light comes back on again and the computer does not proceed to the next step. Even without doing the complete recovery the phone has had a bit of improvement. The only down side to it now it seems to be that it runs a bit slow and freezes now and then. I have tried several times to do the complete reboot but encounter the same problem.

i have the same problem, what happen with this model??? what do i need to do???? i espect more abotu sony products, please helpme to save my phone!!! i tri every thing that sony recomet before, but my phone not conet whith my pc anda also dont star.

tengo el mismo problema, que pasa con este modelo??? que tengo que hacer? yo espere mas de los productos de sony por favor ayudenme a salvar mi telefono!!!! eh tratado todo lo que recomienda sony anteriormente, pero mi telefono no conecta con mi pc y tampoco prende!!!!

The action suggestions only worked for a while, until I finaly gave up on my LT30. It was only two and a half years old and I feel a bit peed off considering the price of phones today. So my hand was forced and I had to get a contract, Aqua M4. Under two months old and I can't get it to switch on??? Really??? I am a strong believer in what you pay for is what you get, but for an item that is allegedly worth a few hundred quid only to last no more than two years is a joke! Not everyone wants that new thing, quality, not quantity SONY.

Just to let you know I had the same problem just now on my lt30p phone then I search

Ed online and came across the steps below by Hampus, I followed that and my phone is back on. Thank you.
