I'm having trouble with my touchscreen, there seems to be a 10mm strip right across the middle of the screen that doesn't recognise any touch. This goes when I use the bundled diagnostic, but is there when I use a 3rd party test, or try to use that area of the screen at any other time. I have tried safe mode and it's exactly the same. The only time it doesn't happen is when I use the sony diagnostics for touch screen, it clears the picture perfectly. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Me1973,

Welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about this issue.

The first thing I would recommend is testing your phone in safe mode, in case an app has something invisible drawn over the middle of your screen. You will be unable to use any third party apps in this mode, so while in safe mode dial *#*#7378423#*#*, go to Service Tests and test the touch screen. Run though all the tests there for the best idea.

Do a factory reset, but know that you'll lose the pre-installed media files. My cold spot was centre right, about one quarter up from the bottom. I couldn't use the keyboard fully, and didn't fancy the exchange treadmill via sony. It's possibly linked to non-sony peripherals which I'm a little bit sceptical of, but others will need to weigh in......

Kinda happy to hear this, because i've got the exact same issue.. At the same spot i guess, i thought it was just above the power button. Though i've send my phone back to where I got it, cause I went crazy about it. Hope they can do something about me or just give me a new XZ. I was actually not really happy with mine because my Z2 was even faster/better in use

I think double tap to wake is one of the obvious issues. My phone also used to discharge under heavy use when connected to the mains, and didn't resume charging when left idle, unless unplugged and reconnected altogether. That was fixed for me this morning when the UK update landed, so they're definitely addressing bugs, just not advertising which ones. My Z3 felt more refined, but I'd optimised that using a custom rom and a few niche apps. I think it's still early days with nougat generally, but sony needs to get on top of it as the handset appears to have sold better than expected (possibly to people who may not have picked sony as a first choice, although I did).....
