Issues after after update to Android 10

I just upgraded to Android 10 (52.1.A.0.532).

Since then

- My recorded voice messages in WhatsApp are very quiet. I can't change the record volume anywhere. The recipients can hardly understand what I say, even if they are at full volume. Before update the volume level was normal.

- The finger print sensor responds very slow. I need to keep the finger on the sensor for at least one second. Before update it worked within 1/10th of a second.

- The status bar (on top, where you can see the battery l and time) sometimes disappeared after wakeup of the phone from standby.

Please find a solution to this and roll out a new system update asap.

They had already abandoned the current flagship devices (Xperia 5 and Xperia 1). It is just wishful thinking that they would roll out an update for Xz2 compact. Just look at what happened to xz1 compact

Here in Germany that Android 10 Update was just rolled out recently.

Especially the microphone problem seems to be an issue for many users.

Sony, please fix that asap! It makes the phone unusable in many apps (tested, not just in Whatsapp).

is anyone experienced the problems with lagging,freezig and overal slowing down the system post Android 10 update? Or it's just me? I

have really hard times not throwing the phone agains the walland not comming back to Sony again.

Since that update my GPS position is about 250km off... Absolutely unusuable....fix this ASAP!

After Update of my XZ2 compact to V.52.1.A.0.532 i experienced the following issues:

- Panoramic camera malfunktion of stitching process of image. Now the panoramic function is useless as images are postprocessed falsly.

- Fingerprint not working all the time and with a lot of delay

- noticable increase of battery drain

- Overall system performance decrease. Sliding desktop pages to left or right is not smooth anymore (although my default is animation scale 0,5x in dev.options which already increases system speed)

- Frequent system freeze for multiple seconds where the phone does not respond anymore

- Wifi connection problems

- microphone recording level very low

Very disappointed in Sony, at the moment my xz2 compact is not usuable since the android 10 update (a shame for 1,5 year old premium device)

the next phone for sure will be not one from Sony.

Same here mic issues volume too low in voices in whatsapp and viber. Problem ahould be fixed at a faster rate sony cz we cant communixate with anybody.

Hey Stonekeep,

Same issues as you, the phone is notcicably slower and "sleepy" doing most things. Fingerprint reader is slower, camera often crashes... Really dissapointed I ever upgraded from the previous release I was running. What are you doing about this Sony ? No wonder you cant sell anything where is your support ?

Yeah, I'm really disappointed, but I've solved the problem: I bought Samsung Galaxy S10e. After upgrade from A9 to A10 guess what? No issues at all. The size of phone is significantly bigger, but I don't care. The Xperia XZ2 Compact is totally useless with A10 for my daily needs.

After update zu Android 10 the smartphone fails to connect with a computer over USB.

I can recharge the accu normaly with the standard power supply unit.

But when i want to connect the smartphone with the pc it does nothing.

I even can't charge the accu via computer.

Same issue here. It will be better not to update our phones because problems like this could be very bad.

Since the update to android 10 for tHe XZ2compact there seems to be a problem to connect the XZ2compact to other android tablets via Bluetooth. I can pair them but the connection is only established for only 2 seconds and then the connection is "gone" just as if i closed the connection but the device is still listed as paired but not connected.

Hello, problems since the purchase of this phone, updates have resolved some problems and especially added other problems all handicapping. I have had almost all the problems stated on this forum. This smartphone is good to throw in the trash. I will not stay at Sony if no action has been taken. I don't want you to solve my problems, I want another phone that works. Cardially

Hi folks

I have same problems on my XZ2 ( no compact ) too much lags

-Alerts or sounds messages, calls notifications doesn't work anymore

-Phone slow down

-Blutooth connexions to samsung Gear very stranges, each time I take a picture watch is getting offline

-Battery level getting low too quickly

Seem to be really better, many old applications wasn't up-to-date with Android 10
