Just put sd card into phone, settings had me format the sd card and then it shoes its unsupported. It works on other devices.

Did you try to format it using the official SD card formatter app on Windows too?

Hi @Clockworks, sorry to hear about this and I apologize for the late reply.

Is this a brand new SD card, or one that you have previously used in a different device? Just to make sure that there is not something strange going on with the device, do you have any other SD card to mount in your device? It doesn't really matter how big / small it is, it's just to try and see if the device can read any SD cards at all.

It is a previously used sd card, but I also learned it's just too old and the phone is too new

Below are the specifications for the SD cards that is supported in the Xperia 10.

Expansion slot : microSD™ card, microSDHC, microSDXC
Max capacity of external slot: Up to 512 GB

Feel free to keep me posted if you get a hold of a different SD card!

Having the same problem with my wife's phone.- the sd card was used in her previous Xperia fine, but now despite formatting in the Xperia 10 says unsupported and keeps saying format again.

Disappointing if we have to buy a new one - and can you guarantee a brand that works?

The brand that failed in my case (same issues as mentioned in previous posts) is SanDisk

Hi @no13benny, sorry for the late reply, I have been out of office due to vacation.

Does the SD card still work in her old Xperia device? There isn't anything different in the Xperia 10-series compared to older devices, the same type of SD cards are supported, just a bigger size as the device is newer.

If the SD card reader is defect, it will be the same with a different SD card so I can't promise that it will work with a brand new one. Do you or your wife have the possibility to just try with a different SD card? Perhaps if you can borrow from a friend, colleague or family member before you spend money on a new SD card.
