topic White bit under sim card slot in Z Series

This might be a really silly question, but beneath the sim card slot there's a little strip of paper - what is it, and should it be left in the phone?

If you pull it out (It won't fully come out) you will see it contains pertinent information about your phone like the make and model and IMEI number and various other required symbols

That's a slightly frustrating answer, in that it doesn't answer the OP questions. What's the purpose? Is it required? Does it help hold the sim in place?

Shush now, the answer is perfect

It's a handy pullout with the IMEI on it.

If the phone is lost, the phone doesn't need to be turned on and security cracked to go to settings to look up the IMEI number if that is registered as lost
