No signs of screen damage it has a screen protector on it. Only had the phone around 3 months so would really rather repair then have to buy a new one....

Thanks

Just started happening to me today.

Been getting some odd behaviour before now (over last 24 hours or so) with some application soft keys not responding properly (the send button in whatsapp doesn't work sometimes and the delete key on my keyboard also doesn't work sometimes). I've used more than one keyboard but the google keyboard seems worst.

The notification & settings pull-down drawers just randomly triggering is the most recent odd behaviour from the screen.

I wondered whether it's a hardware issue - will be awful if it is, as my handset is just outside (literally by a month or two) of 2 years (the length of my contract).

Can't see any crack and I too have a screen protector.

Used the the touchscreen service test and no phantom responses and settings drawer only pulls down when I need it to.

Very odd.

Can't really see how it's software or else we'd have masses of posts here, I'd have thought. Posts are spread out over some time, so it's clearly not a single event. Am pretty loathe to wipe handset too, as that causes so much disruption, when trying to resume back to your previous configuration. Meh.

thanks,

My Z3 Compact has just started displaying the notification bar by itself, I am trying to use my phone, type messages etc and it just keeps coming down which is making the phone unusable. I've tried re starting it, soft reset and safe mode, it just keeps doing it! Can anyone help please?

I´ve got the same problem. It started 2 days ago. The notification bar and sometimes even the menu (that normally just comes up if you touch the notification bar again) will randomly pub up while useing the touchscreen.

Touchscreen test in diagnostics works fine and no pop ups there. While typing the problem seems to be much worse than while just browsing through screens.

Firmware 23.4.A.1.264

P.S.: Before that problem occured i had trouble for 2-3 days to open up the notification bar at all. Sometimes it would just work after switching the screen off and on again.

P.P.S.: I just tried to repair the firmware with PC Companion. This didn´t solve the problem.

I seem to have a patch on the screen, in the middle that seems to affect the notification bar. If I go to an empty home screen I can press a certain part of the screen and initiate the notification bar coming down. I presume somehow that the sensor is damaged and it thinks that when I press the point on the middle of the screen it thinks it's the top of the screen. I think.
