I have purchased Xperia z5 dual on 22ND of June 2016....it's been only one day of use but the device is heating excessively, let me also inform you that when I switched on the device it took me to updates and I have now android 6.0.1 but the device is heating excessively no matter what ever work I am doing on it, please let me know why is it happening and what is the solution.

The more you use it the hotter it'll get, it's normal, more so if you play heavy games and or have heavy apps running.

Welcome to the community.

Another thing worth mentioning is, when you purchase a new phone, a majority of the first usage time will be downloading, installing and updating apps. This will cause a lot of strain on your CPU, causing it to heat it up and the battery to drain quicker.

After you have your device set up the way you like it, you should notice it running cooler and the battery lasting longer than when you first purchased it.

Other than that, @uliwooly is right. The more intensive the application you're using, the more it is going to heat up.

I know that as much I use it will get hotter and hotter but tell me how much hot it should be and let me remind you that I haven't installed any games or strain giving apps yet and I also don't bother about the heating on first day as it had to update and all those stuff, but what about today because today I have just used social apps like whatsapp Facebook or Twitter and others but still it is getting heated , my request to you is please let me know what is the range of temperature in Celsius for when straining apps are used or camera is used usually
And what is the range of temperature when using moderate apps
And what is the range when using ignorable apps or not using device much
Please let me know so that I can match it with the temperature of my phone
And also please let me know how to check the temperature of my phone with the help ofa code (as I know there is some code to check it)

Hi @Azzu1,

I am afraid I cannot give you a temperature range for specific apps or processes as I do not have access to this kind of information.

The phone does have a built in safety mechanism however, that will shut the phone down if it does get close to overheating.

I'm not sure if there is a way to check this in the default system. You may need a third party app to do this, but we cannot guarantee the functionality of third party apps.

That'll be interesting, check ebay or amazon, but do NOT try to cool off your device by placing it in the fridge/freezer or expose it to drastic temperature changes, it will damage the phone.

Hi all,

I have been for years the happy owner of an Xperia Z2. Two week ago, i sold it and today i bought a new Xperia Z5.

Already after the first start I noticed excessive heating of the part under the screen up.

Every time I do some operation, I note immediately a lot of heat.

I confirmed this problem? After the upgrade to Android 6.0 this problem has been solved#
