Sony 200 600 g oss worth repairing?

Got a broken, chipped filter thread on the lens.

is it worth repairing? The estimate i got was around 250€.
I am concerned for the weather sealing as I plan to go on a safari for dust, And also moisture.
I do not know if it affects the inside for dust to get into the lens compartment or not. If it is worth it. I usually use only nd filter to get proper exposure for filming so it also kind of sucks I can’t use a filter

Hi @Scehhh, this lens is not waterproof, although designed with dust-proofness and splash-proofness in mind. If using in the rain etc., keep water drops away from the lens. I know it is not suposed to be used with no precaution in rain and harsh enviroments. I worded it wrong maybe,

I am more concerd for like environmental moisture to afect it more cause of the crack like not from direct splashing but just like humidity and stuff.

@Scehhh However, a crack in the lens could potentially compromise this protection, making it more susceptible to environmental moisture and humidity. I agree with you! I would recommend sending it for inspection.
