topic MAC OS and NEX-5 firmware upgrade in Alpha & NEX interchangeable lens cameras

Just bought an NEX-5 and am awed by it - brilliant bit of kit.

However, I use a Mac and tried to do a firmware update for the camera from v2 to v3.

Using an iMac running Snow Leopard OS 10.6.4 on a 27inch iMac I singularly failed to get the camera recognised by the updater program after trying several times and rebooting everything.

However, using an iMac running Leopard OS10.5.8 everything worked like a dream. Camera immediately recognised by the updator, all worked efficiently and the new features function beautifully.

Hope this is useful if anyone gets frustrated and trust that Sony will soon post a fix in their updator.

Thanks for the heads up. I found a similar issue, but it works fine on Mac Pro and XP, so... ok, it's not perfect, but the v3 upgrade and lens adapter upgrades are a huge improvement.
