I have been looking at the new RX10V camera which I believe is being released later this month. I own a SONY 400 which is pretty ancient, and fancy a new camera, I recently purchased a A6700, however I found it too difficult to understand so returned for a refund. This new camera is an expense, and fear it will again be too complicated, I like the idea of auto focus toggle on the camera. I only use my camera for family holidays and day outs.

Hi Chrisp2554, i found you question when searching for some info about the RX10M5.

I am owner of the RX10M4 and i have to say, it is a Swiss-knife for those, who want to travel and take photos without much thinking about it. The massive zoom will allow you to take shots even if you are not directly in the action (like on safari or taking photo of kids playing w/o noticing you).

If you have good light and switch it to full automatic (including focus), you can forget about all the settings and just take the pictures.

If you want to play, you have all the possibilities - what you see below is without any postprocessing at all... - even thou, the sensor is not the best one for such conditions.

Sure, it is not the cheapest one, if you just need to document family events on the garden, there are for sure cheaper ones....
