VPCSB Webcam Lens

Hi Sony Community,

I own a Sony Vaio S-series laptop. The webcam lens on my laptop seems to have slipped out of placed (see the picture below). How can I fix this problem? The webcam still functions fine but the image is extremely blurry. I hope I can solve this problem soon, so I can skype my out of country friends and family.

Hi Lisa and welcome to the Sony Users Community forums.

I presume you have tried holding the Vaio in a way that the lens is at the top and tapping the camera gently to see if the lens drops back to its correct place?

Failing that, it looks like you will need a new camera to be fitted. This is probably the only way to get a reliable fix.

Yes, I've tried to gently tap the lens back into place, but it looks like its stuck in the bottom-right corner.Would I be able to bring my laptop to a Sony Store to get a new camera fitted? And, by chance do you know how much this would roughly cost? Thanks again!
