hdmi outputs only 720p

Hi, I have Sony Vaio S13 which has HDMI and VGA output. Recently I bought HP ZR2740w which is 27" display which has 2560x1440 resolution and DVI and display port input. I connected it to Vaio by HDMI cable and DVI reduction and I can only get 720p from that (which looks horribly). In Control Center there is only 720p option and 1080p is grayed out. When I manually set up resolution to 1080p it doesn't work (display is black). I have tried to download new drivers (which are not available because I can't install them from Intel site and Sony didn't release them) also I tried to turn STAMINA option on as in https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/35582/c/65%2C66/kw/hdmi%20settings%20resolution%20vaio/ but it doesn't work.
