Good evening all, i was wondering whether anyone could help me answer a question.

I purchased a VAIO SVF152C29M from PC world about 4 weeks ago and so far it has been great. However i need to encrypt the hard drive for when i am travelling on business and i thought this would be a simple process using the TPM - unfortunately i cannot find the TPM module and i can find nothing online about encrypting the hard drive of this laptop

Can anyone help?

Hi JJZHJJZH and welcome.

TPM is a hardware solution which needs a unique chip on the motherboard.

Most business laptops now use BitLocker which is integrated into Windows 8 Pro.

There are other 3rd party encryption solutions but you may wish to take a close look at upgrading to Windows 8 Pro if you need this feature.
