Sony Vaio SVF152C29M Drivers and Touch Panel Help Needed

I have a Sony Vaio SVF152C29m with a broken touch panel. Has anyone replaced one of these panels or knows of a video or tutorial to help with the replacement, I think that the panel is held in place using adhesive.

I'm also having hardware driver problems after updating from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

The screen shots below show the two 'Unknown' devices seen in Windows Device Manager I have marked them '1' and '2'. I have also included screen shots of the Hardware ID's of both items also similarly marked for identification. I have searched for and installed drivers for both unknown devices but without success.

Any help or advice regarding these two problems would be appreciated.

Hi B-Ogbrush and welcome.

The SNY5001 is the Sony Firmware Extension Parser (SFEP) Driver which you can find here:-

There is no Win10 specific driver but the Win8 version should be OK as the driver is not OS specific. I also think it is the same for all SVF152* models and if you want to be absolutely sure you should look for another model name on your Vaio in the Bios or as a label on the chassis starting SVF1521* - this is the model name used by Sony for all support purposes.

Try installing this and see if it covers both errors.

Thanks for the link but the drivers did not work. I did try to install them in Windows 8 compatibility mode but it made no difference, I still have two unknown devices in 'Device Manager'.

On a lighter note, after some careful examination I was able to separate the touch-panel along with it's attached LCD screen from the laptop's lid. I was than able to remove the LCD and was left with the touch-panel with it's frame attached. This was not an easy jab as a lot of double sided tape had been used at the factory to join the two screen components together and I did not want to use a lot of force for fear of damaging the LCD.

Still looking for drivers for the two 'Unknown' devices.

Touch panel now replaced using second user panel purchased from a famous internet auction site.

It won't be going to a Sony repair center just for the remaining driver issue the cost would be far in excess of the machines value.
