VPCEJ2A9E - DVD drive not working

DVD Drive not working, having to even open the DVD Tray with a paperclip via the eject hole.

When run problem through Vaio Care it comes up with the following message:

Please make sure the Drive is connected.

Windows didn't detect an optical disc drive. it might be disconnected or unplugged. Check ther drive connection or plug the drive in.

Laptop is less than a year old.

Cpontact Sony Help desk? or is this a driver issue i can solve myself?

Hi pubrockcoma and welcome.

It sounds like the DVD drive has become disconnected or is faulty. I would contact Vaio Support while you are still within Warranty.

If you look in Device Manager -> CD/DVD-ROM Drives can you see your drive listed and are there any Error Codes?
