PCG-TR2MP - Windows 7 Compatibility & Max RAM

My Vaio PCG-TR2MP has become slow and I'm considering formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows. Will Windows 7 32-Bit work on this machine? Do drivers exist for all components?

Has anyone tried installing more than a total of 1Gb or RAM on it?

Hi lithium-mt and welcome.

Sony does not support your Vaio for Vista or Windows 7 so drivers do not exist as a set - you would have to explore and try to find them individually from other Vaios or manufacturers' websites. I doubt if you will find a workable graphics driver as Intel have not made graphics drivers for Vista as the chipset falls short of the minimum requirements.

Quite honestly with a 1GB Low Voltage Processor, maximum 1GB RAM and 64MB of Intel 855GM graphics, I would stick with XP.

Now I just need to know if anyone has successfully installed more than 1Gb of RAM.
