Restore factory settings on a new vaio laptop i3 processor

Hi,

I bought a new VAIO SVE1511K1ESI.CEK laptop two days ago and attempt to use my external hardrive to restore the backup from my old laptop. It failed miserably (for some unknown reason) so now I want to restore the factory settings on the laptop so that it will remove the random files and programmes that were uploaded from my backup.

All of the options in Vaio Assist seem to restore to an earlier time but don't wipe the computer clean. If anyone has any idea of how to do this I would be SO grateful. Am losing my mind slightly...

Hi mary263 and welcome.

You need to press the Vaio Assist key when the Vaio is TURNED OFF.

Follow the instructions for "To Recover from the Recovery Area" and follow the on-screen instructions for a Complete Recovery.
