You'll be pleased to know that the Customised UK version of the latest software for the Z4 LTE has been posted. It's similar to the O2 UK Pay Monthly one.https://xpericheck.com/device/SGP771

Hi All

I’ve already had a bit of an issue with my Z4 lagging a bit, before Nougat too; particularly when entering my PIN and pulling down the notification pane. So, after a bit of mucking around with settings, I’ve suddenly managed to nuke the lag.

When you have time, can you try the following on your Z4 and see if it makes a change? I'm interested to see if this works on somebody else's tablet.

Go to settings > Display > Display Size …. Change to Small. (If this makes the font too small I changed the Display > Font Size to large with no issues)

My Z4 now runs better than my Samsung S7 Edge. I’m wondering if the small display size is a native res and there’s no scaling going on…. It also makes multi window much easier to use…

BTW - I am using a Z4 LTE UK running firmware 32.3.A.0.376 - Nougat with December's security patches. Thanks in advance.

I'll have to try that. Thanks.

I have also been experiencing lag since the .376 update on my O2 UK Pay Monthly version of the Z4 Tablet.

Did you notice that the O2 splash screen on start up has gone with .376 also?

And have you noticed your speakers are louder and you've lost a day in battery life?

I experienced all that too aswell as the lag when I updated to .376.

I've just updated to the newer .33 with the March security patch. It's too early to say if anything has changed with that.

Save to say if I experience any more lag I'll try your trick.

The only thing others would suggest in such circumstances is to do a Software Repair via the Companion app. I only like to do that as a last resort since it resets so many things and is a pain to set it all up again.

Hi Jimroy

My Z4 LTE was a UK sim-free; it was never O2 branded. I've basically had the tablet since August 2015 and it's lagged since purchase, particularly during PIN entry. Only since Nougat has the option to change the graphics scaling been available, and the small setting seems to be the native 2560 x 1600 res. BTW, I'm getting 4 days usage with around 2 hours screen use a day using the .376 firmware.
