Automatische helderheid uitzetten

Om verschillende redenen heb ik ervoor gekozen om mijn VAIO SE (VPCSE1C5E) opnieuw te installeren met Windows 7. Hierna heb ik alle drivers van de Sony website gedownload en een voor een geinstalleerd. Zo ook de Intel+AMD driver (geinstalleerd in 'speed' mode), de sony shared library en het sony control center. Ook alle windows updates geinstalleerd, niet dat dat iets uitmaakte...

Om voor mij onverklaarbare redenen werkt alles, behalve de 'automatische brightness'; dwz: ik kan dit niet uitzetten. Met de functietoetsen kan ik wel de brightness van het scherm zelf beinvloeden. Ook kan ik het vinkje 'apply brightness automatically' aan en uitzetten in vaio control center -- maar dit doet helemaal niets.

Vandaag heb ik voor de 3e keer alle drivers van de sony website afgestruind naar de juiste driver... maar ook vandaag heb ik na herinstallatie van de video drivers, de sony shared library en zo nog een paar weer bot gevangen. Inmiddels ben ik redelijk ten einde raad, dus graag advies.

Symptoom: Ik word behoorlijk irritant van het continue bijwerken van de brightness als ik een light scherm open en vervolgens een donker scherm open, dus wil dit graag uitzetten. 'stamina' of 'speed' mode maakt niet uit. Oh ja, als iemand me kan vertellen waar ik dit fysiek kan uitzetten dmv. een plakkertje vind ik dat ook een prima oplossing, maar het liefst wil ik natuurlijk gewoon weten welke driver ik moet hebben om dit voor eens en altijd op te lossen.

Kortom, HELP!

Bloody... I'll do this in English for all the people that want to know this. This issue has everything to do with the device drivers and doesn't make sense.

Apparently there's another auto-ambient technology feature hidden, that causes the issue described here:

- Go to the Intel control panel (intel -> properties)

- Go to 'power'

- On the top-right, click power source -> on battery

- Uncheck 'display power saving technology'

*sigh*

Why it doesn't make sense you might ask? Well, if you switch to 'speed' mode the Intel graphics feature is not used anymore, but the 'technology' crap will still work. In other words, you're screen will still change the darkness setting, regardless if you use the Intel Graphics 'chip' or not.

*sigh*

Obviously, the Sony Control Center should also disable the ambient sensor and if you really like, you can disable the 'adaptive brightness' service in services.msc.

Perhaps this would be a nice sticky subject; I'm sure everyone that reinstalls his sony will encounter this issue sooner or later - and it took me 8 hours to figure it out (and I'm an expert user - do the math on an amateur...).
