Recording to an external HDD

Hello every one,

Before purchasing an external HDD for my KDL-32EX720 model, I would like to ask you two things:

1. Does the TV set need to be switched on while recording to an external HD?

(If it does, what about the programmed recordings? Does the TV set switch automatically on before starting recording, if it is switched off at that time.

2. Is it possible to watch other channel(s) while recording one?

1. No just normal standby required. If you watch TV and have programed a recording, it will automatically switch ch. - same as with the notification option.

2. No, it will require 2 tunes, which your TV hasn't.

On this subject!! If I record to external HDD from internal tuner, can I then switch to AV1 and watch my secondry digital tuner that is connected to my tv?

Hi there

Yes - That should work, as its only the tuner connected to the TV, as it would be in use
