Series Recording Sony Bravia - cannot find option

The manual has the instruction:-

Select [Guide] -- programme to record -- [TIMER REC]

I get to the Guide, scroll to the programme to record but where is the [TIMER REC] option? I can't see it anywhere, either on the screen or on the remote.

Help please?

WHich TV do you have? Did you register an HDD for recording before attempting to Timer Rec anything?

The TV is Sony Bravia KDL-32W705C.

I have recorded several programmes by using the red 'Record' button on the remote so the HDD is set up properly. What I can't do is record the complete series of a programme.
