Sony Bravia KDL52V5500 Sky Black Screen

When I connect my Sony Bravia KDL52V5500 (NZ model) to my Sky+ box I just get a black screen.

Everything else works fine including Laptop and BluRay player. The later plays The Hobbit which I assume means that HDCP must be working?

I currently live in New Zealand at it's an NZ Sky+ box (Pace), I am English and Sony won't let me post on the Asia forum with my account (why are all these globalised tech companies so bad at coping with globalised customers).

Questions:

This seems to be a known problem between Sky and Sony?

What version (if any) of HDCP will the TV have (not in the manual)?

These is a firmware update for the TV on the UK site but not the NZ one. Will the update break the NZ set?
