Input selection when tv switched on

new purchase of KD49XF7002BU

when tv is switched on, it always defaults to digital input.

i always watch through sky box on input hdmi 1, but it always defaults back to digital even though the TV is switched off while watching input hdmi 1, it doesnt seem to remember this and i always have to change it on the inputs menu from digital to hdmi 1 which is annoying.

anyone aware of a solution ?

Hi. Thanks for the welcome.

Sky HD box doesnt support Bravia sync.

My question is more basic, why doesnt the TV ‘remember’ the input that was being used last when the TV was switched off instead of defaulting to digital input when switched on ?

Hi @Danny0367

You should ensure that HDMI Control is turned On on the Sky HD Box and On for the TV HDMI input you are using. That way switching on the Sky HD Box should turn on the TV and set it to the correct input. If that doesn’t work then you should speak to Sony Support as it should work!

I agree with SonyUser30Yrs. Try switching on the BRAVIA sync settings and let us know if this resolves it.

Hi Danny0367,

You can try using a different HDMI cable and search for any devices detected for HDMI control. Let us know if this makes any difference.

unfortunatley still not resolved.

TV is still always on digital input selection when first switched on.

Hi @Danny0367. Yes, but you turned on HDMI control on the Sky box? Turning on the Sky box should turn on the TV for you.

i have a sky+hd box which is a amstrad model and there appears to be no settings option for hdmi control or one touch operation 😞

1. Press Services on your Sky remote control. The Options tab will be highlighted.

2. Press the right arrow button to highlight Settings and then press select.

3. Use the down arrow button to highlight HDMI Control.

4. Use the left/right arrow button to toggle it ON/OFF.

5. Press the green button on your remote to save your settings.

Yep tried that from sky website but I dont have the HDMI control option within settings

Hi @Danny0367

Sounds like it’s time to contact Sky Support. The HDMI control setting has been present for decades

Could explain why your TV is not behaving as it should.

On the verge of giving up

My Sky+HD box is made by Amstrad, wonder if this box doesnt support HDMI control whereas other manufacturers who made Sky boxes did ?
