So I have just got this new TV and well as the quality is good the app set out is terrible I cant seem go download any type of app on the TV only what is preloaded and have to use an web browser called vewd and vewd apps . Is this it am I really going to have to pug a Google chrome cast in the TV to get the app I want . This is 2019 ... dose anyone know away go get app for the TV or anything

Hello @Deadmau586.pr,

since the TV runs on Linux it is up to the App-Developer to program the app for this operating system.

Android TVs have a wider set of native apps because you have access to the Google-PlayStore, yet since you probably don't want to replace your TV just because of the apps, I recommend to get a dongle like the Amazon FireTV-Stick, a Google Chrome-Cast or an Apple-TV to get access to either the Google-PlayStore or the App-Store.

This solution would cost another 20-40 pounds, yet it is worth it in my opinion.

I do know what you are saying but . This model and all 2018 models all run this OS .

They have vewd in witch has no good apps on it and day to fine out that it will be removed from the os due to some reasons they dont want to go into there must be something they will replace it with. As a linux user my self I dont and cant see why they dont just add Amazon store or Google play .

Only the entry level (like yours XF7) Sony TVs run on Linux. All the medium to high end 2018 Sony TVs run on Android. For Android you need a XF8 and above which have the Google Play Store.

Thanks for the reply the. Next issuse I have now that I found apps in the vewd app store were I can watch the things I want . Today go find out that they are removing vewd from the TV are they replacing it with something els ?
