KDL-50W705B blank screen

TV was working fine, it was on, no one watching.... looked at it to find screen had gone blank, sound was fine. It seems to be backlit, but no picture. Have looked on line, many say to do a forced reset, although many contradicting ways of doing it. Any ideas on how to fix or reset?
