My Nex6 camera won't connect wirelessly to my ipad

Has anyone else tried to connect these two devices?

I've set the Nex6 to broadcast it's address and I can find it on the ipad but when I type in the password the ipad refuses to connect (I have tried it several times and am sure it's not a password entry problem). Has anyone been able to get them working together or is this just another Apple lets not talk to anyone else issue.

I did have some issues with the whole wifi on iOS. I just had to disable wifi and got it going again. Does it throw up any errors?

Have you tried using the wifi for live view or only to send photos over?

Thanks for your response, at the moment all I want to do is transfer the images from the Nex6 onto the iPad while I'm away on holiday, backup and review purposes. I'll try again this evening.
