Hello
First time poster here. Please can someone help:
I have the NEX-5 and wanted to install some of the apps from the PlayMemories apps site such as the time-lapse app. I believe that this is not possible on the NEX-5, only on the NEX-5R and newer models. I was wondering if it was at all possible to get round this somehow and any idea if Sony plan to update this in the near future.
I know on the latest firmware update (I have version .05) it added things such as the 'picture effect' shooting mode that allows you to shoot in B & W, vivid colours etc. So surely it would be possible to add a firmware update that allows the above??
Please can someone confirm what the latest firmware is as there doesnt appear to have been a release for almost 12 months??
Heres the website:

Thanks for your help

Hello Dan - Welcome to the Sony Forums
As far as I am aware, the apps feature was designed to be introduced with the new model of NEX camera as an additional feature. As a result, I don't think that a similar update for the NEX-5 is likely to happen.
For the firmware in general, the latest available version will always be published on the official Sony support page for this camera. This can be found here:
