Can the battery be charged without having to remove it each time from the camera?

If not Sony are way behind the competition and I am VERY disappointed with the purchase!

Hello iggy29 - Welcome to the Sony Forums

This camera has been designed without a power socket in the camera itself which means that the only method of recharging is to use the supplied battery charger. One partial solution may be to purchase a spare battery so that you can always have one in the camera while the other charges.
