? Clearing programme memory

I have not long had my KDL32WE616 repaired after less than 4 months use. It needed a new main  circuit board. I have been unable to access the bbc red button service since apart from one time only, off in the morning, was there at tea time a few days ago but not since. I have tried a factory reset but no luck there. I have tried twice to clear memory by scanning with aerial lead off which should clear it , but when I plug aerial lead back in the programmes are still there before I can rescan again. Surely it should not be like that or am I not doing it right?

I assume you're referring to KDL-32WE615. (I've never seen a 616 model, but I could be wrong)

Have you tried updating it to the latest software version?

As for the reset, why not try disconnecting everything from the back and unplug the TV from the wall for a few minutes, then turn it on, tune without the aerial then connect the aerial and tune again?

Thanks for reply, tried unplugging hdmi lead and aerial lead plus mains plug, left it for 10 mins, power on, scanned without aerial or hdmi lead, obviously no stations found. Plugged leads back in, all stations there as before without having to scan!
On firmware update, it says if version number is lower than v8.233, update to version v8.235 before installing update to v8.585. If version number is either v8.233 or v8.235 update directly to v8.585.
Mine says v8.542 which isn't mentioned. Shall I just try the update to v8.585? I shall have to try the usb method but not too techy but will try. Tv is WE613, must have put wrong no in.

Yes, since it's newer than the mentioned intermediary, you can go ahead with a direct install of v8.585.

Tried updating software but it said mine was up to date on v8.542. I e-mailed Sony about this, their reply said that the update was being rolled out region by region but could not give a date for when it would be in our region. Why don't they say this on the download page it would save alot of hassle. I have put it on a usb stick but am reluctant to try this method as I have read reports that it can mess up the tv.
