KD-55S8005C Freeview Play support?

Morning all.

I've had a quick look around but not finding anything definitive, which suggest to me it doesn't... but, does the KD-55S8005C support Freeview Play?

Thanks in advance.

@khallergard

@mabatem29 asked me if I knew what Freeview Play was, and I do, and this Freeview phone and tablet app isn’t it.

And while your second link gets closer, read what it says there about it:-

This application requires a compatible Freeview Play device, please see https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-play for more details.
In order to function properly, this application requires additional components to be installed.
The following components are required: "MDS Client", "FVP Config Authority" & "TIF Bridge" from Freeview, these all come as part of your Freeview Play TV.

So it isn’t anything that is going to turn a non-Freeview Play device into a Freeview Play one 😢

My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…

I agree with royabrown2, this model is equipped with YouView so it doesn't have support for Freeview Play, which is mostly on non Android TVs as far as I know.

If you have a Freeview Play device like Manhattan it could be a source for the TV when connected to one of the HDMI ports
