Sony Bravia 9 II Audio Delays and Drops

Hi,

 

Consistently, after some viewing time, I experience significant audio sync delays and even full drop outs. My goal is sending full uncompressed audio to the soundbar for Dolby Atmos, etc.

 

When the sound does go out of sync and/or experience drop outs, I have to toggle "digital audio output" to PCM then back to pass through. Which seems to re-establish the connection correctly. It will then continue to work as expected for while until the process needs repeating.

 

The same audio issues seem to mainly be on high bandwidth formats such as Dolby Atmos. The issues occur on any device outputting to the soundbar.

 

The Sony Theatre 9 soundbar only has 1 input connection so it's not possible to connect all devices directly to the soundbar.

 

Are Sony aware of such issues? Please see my setup below. Thanks:

  • Bravia 9 II TV
  • Theatre 9 soundbar 
  • Duel sub 9 speakers 
  • Rear 9 speakers 
  • eARC HDMI 2.1 connection 
  • Acoustic centre sync enabled
  • PS5 connected to HDMI 4 game port
  • UBP-X800M2 4k player connected to HDMI 2

Audio options:

  • Prioritise pass through 
  • A/V sync on
  • eARC setting auto

HDMI formats:

  • HDMI 2 enhanced 
  • HDMI 3 enhanced 
  • HDMI 4 enhanced advanced
