Sony bravia KD55xe8596 Hdmi Arc

Hi

I just replaced my old sony lcd 32' with a bravia kd55xe8596 and I have some issues regarding the Hdmi Arc.

I've connected the Tv with my old soundbar ht-ct266 via the hdmi Arc and i experience some issues.

I followed the instructions line by line but something is happening and i want to know who is the culprit.

This is the issue:

The tv is on and everything is working properly and I swich off the Tv.The soundbar is going off which is perfect.

The problem starts when I turn on the Tv, the sound bar is turning on as well, but its switching to optical, automatly. This is happening every time.

I've tried 3 cables different quality but with the same result.

I managed to connect the soundbar via optical cable and is working as it should, but i need to use 2 remotes for volume and turn on/off.

I just wonder if someone has this issue and if it has a fix or is just the soundbar is not compatible with tv.

It is very frustrating as there are other small things that makes me think that it wasn't a good idea to buy a new Smart tv Sony.

Thank you for your help.

Hi

I disconnected the laptop and I followed the steps.

I can't follow step 6 as I don't get any menu(like I said the Sb is not supported) and I can confirm that Sb wasn't OFF as I can't put it on standby.

Please let me know.

Another thing to mention is that I had another look at the sound bar and the correct model is SA-CT260H not HT.

I don't know if this is going to change something.

Sorry about the confusion but I presume that the Sb is to outdated .

Hi,

There are a couple of basics that I think we need to get back to here:

1-Reset the SB using steps on page 30 of the manual.

2-Make sure Bravia Sync is enabled on the Sound Bar (Steps found on page 25 of the same manual).

If the issue remains, could you let us know what is the firmware version of the TV? (Found by going to Home - Help - System information).

If you RESET the SB don’t forget to read and excute the instructions found on this article, since the SB will default to OPTICAL output again.

What I would also be interested to know, because you haven’t mentioned it, is if changing the volume on the TV (with the TV remote) is changing the volume on the SB too or not.

Also I was curious to know if the HDMI cable to the laptop was an HDMI-DVI cable?

Hi,

I followed the basic and reset the Sb after that I enabled Control hdmi and over the audio-tv audio Hdmi as per article and manual.

I followed all the steps and I want to mention that the Tv was connected anly with the Sb via Hdmi cable(a high speed cable as I tried 4 different Hdmi cables with the same efect).

Next I turned On the Tv and it worked as it should(AUDIO SYSTEM ACTIVE MESAGE).I wanted to see if it works every time and  I turned Off the tv and on again and surprise surprise 'TV SPEAKERS ACTIVE'

Tried a third time with the same effect TV SPEAKERS ACTIVE message, so we are back at the begining as it worked only after I reset the Sb and turned On tv for the fist time, the same in the past.

I need to mention:

1.When tv is on and it's set to audio system I can use the tv remote to adjuste the volume for the Sb which is great.

2. Every time when I turn on and off the tv ,the Sb turn on and off as well, which is great.

3. The Hdmi cable that I use to connect the laptop is a normal hdmi cable , high speed 4k one and the connection is just Hdmi to hdmi.

The version of the software of the Tv is PKG6.2858.0082EUA.

Please let me know if you need more details and hopefully we can crack this problem.

Thanks

Hi again,

I'll try to pass this on to Sony support for you. They should be getting in touch with you soon.
