Standby to Semi Standby and switches on any AV Receiver connected via HDMI

I was initially looking forward to the recently annouce software update for my Sony A1E OLED TV.   One of the issues it corrected was stated as:

Resolves a condition where the TV switches from Standby to Semi Standby and switches on any AV Receiver connected via HDMI CEC

I have this exact problem since purchasing and installing my A1E. Does anyone else have this problem?

The software update has not auto installed yet however after doing some more reading, I'm concerned that it doesn't correct this condition specified above but in fact makes it worse based on this posting.

Important Information About the Android 8.0 Oreo OS Update

SPECIAL ALERT: The automatic update for Android™ 8.0 has been temporarily suspended.

The reason is that the current Android 8.0 Oreo firmware update (v6.5830) may cause a no sound problem with certain home audio devices (Sound Bar, A/V Receiver or Home Theater System) connected to a TV that has been in standby mode for a long period of time.

Does anyone understand what's going on or have a similar issue?

Hi there,

According to the notice Sony posted about the update, I'd recommend to wait until a new firmware is released to fix the issue.

Hopefully this shouldn't take long.

I’ve had the same issue on my bravia 55x930e for 6-months.  I such off Bravia Sync about 5 months ago. After a software update yesterday, I tried again, but it still randomly powers up my receiver.  Come on Sony, this is silly not to have fixed by now!

I've had this exact problem for many, many months.   I've been hoping the v6.6520 software was going to correct the problem since that was stated by Sony.   The software auto installed at the end of July (two months after it was deployed) and......the problem remains.    This is very frustrating.    This is an expensive television and this bug has existed for way too long.   SONY PLEASE DO SOMETHING....QUICKLY.
