Command C:31:23 in the DCR-TRV12E camcorder

After  command C:31:23 my DCR-TRV12E stopped working. I followed troubleshooting instructions by taking out the battery and the cassette and putting them back but it worked just for a few minutes. The command reappeared and although I tried another cassette the problem remained. Does anybody know what the problem of my videocamera might be?

My camcorder CCD-TRV218E PAL was unused at floor level (63-82ºF) almost a year. It didn´t play or wind when I tried to continue digitization of my tapes. About 15 min cassette compartment open with a lamp warming it up. That was not enough but the compartment downwards and couple of careful taps onto the top and voilá, it plays like a new.
