Unfortunately, if you do not live in the USA you can not download any of the english language books listed on the site.

If you search hard enough, you can find the information of the site, that books can only be bought by people with a USA credit card.

If this information has been listed on the first page about the reader, I would not have just wasted €299.

www.waterstones.com . It should also be possible to find a bookstore in the Netherlands, then the prices are in Euro.

I would also like to shop in the american bookstores, Amazon offers ebooks much cheaper than the printed version. I hope that "international networking" will find its way soon....

I'm an American living in Germany, so I'm also quite disappointed in the lack of English language ebooks in the German stores. The best online store I've found to buy English ebooks online is fictionwise.com. They're always very clear about what formats they offer and whether they're DRM protected or not. I personally refuse to buy DRM content, so this was very important for me. Another site, feedbooks.com, has 3000+ free legal ebooks (mostly in English) which look quite good on the Sony Reader. There I'd recommend choosing the ePub format instead of Sony Reader, since they will look great and use up a lot less space on your device. For a complete list of places to buy and download ePub ebooks, I'd recommend epubbooks.com. If you're still not satisfied, you should still be in your time period to return your Sony Reader.

it works from Britain, but to my experience not from every website. waterstones.com don't sell to Germany.

WHSmith.co.uk works. If you buy, the iste refers you to the German site kobobooks.de for payment and download.It is DRM managed.

Funny is, that if you search for the same book on kobobooks.de, kobobooks.de do not find the book.
