I want to attach a keyboard to the BDP-S790 as the input method of the remote is worse than a mobile phone for someone who is visually diminished.
I have tried a wireless keyboard and, with only the receiver attached to the front USB port, I get a message stating the the device is unsupported. I have also tried a Dell multi-media keyboard but this only works intermittently or not at all. Whilst it did function the player appeared to want a US English layout.
The manual stipulates a 101-key unit, on the front port only, but it would be far more helpful if Sony gave a compatible Vaio accessory ID as a guide or listed it as an accessory!

I called Sony today, 06 June, to enquire what keyboard in their Vaio range would suit the player. The first number, the main support number, had no idea what keyboard suited but suggested a bluetooth device without numeric pad. As they were unsure they referred me to a second number which considered that the unit was not compatible with bluetooth. They were unable to provide a solution.
I then tried a chat contact through the Sony UK website. They were, equally, unable to help and stated "If you find out you can let us know...!" Not helpful at all!
COME ON SONY! This should be a listed accessory.
I have now tried an Empress Ultra Slim Keyboard 6310U, available in Black or White. At first attempt it works on the front port. Whether it is stable or not is another matter. The need to combine remote commands with keyboard typing is annoying but at least I can find the required buttons.
I hope this is of help to other users. It may also suit users of the BDP-S780 as well as any other BD players/recorders with USB input and Internet facilities.

Do you mean the Emprex Chiclet 6310U keyboard listed on Amazon (item B002T9U7Y4)?
[other on-line suppliers are available...]
You can simply buy it anywhere online if Sony won't be able to provide it.
