Bought Xperia Acro S today. It was a very good phone, well satisfied with it. Not until I installed Quickpic (3rd party picture viewer). And to my surprise, the pics from the Album app and Quickpic are exactly the same in terms of color saturation, noise and contrast! WHY is that SONY?

I have had Xperia ARC and RAY for a year or so, then sold the ARC because of the "CRACK" near the sensor. Got Samsung GSII with a horrible screen which I dont wanna look at, then sold it after 3 days and made me go back to SONY. But til this time after reading several comments, a lot of people noticed that the mBE is not working and Sony is not giving any CLEAR answer or solution for the issue.

I had about 20 SE phones and this is the first real Sony phone I have, please don't disappoint me. Any moderator or Sony Exec, please give me a reasonable answer for this query.

You misunderstand Garret.

If you take a screenshot with BE on, and another with BE off, and view it on a PC [NOT YOUR XPERIA] you should be able to see the BE difference. Some phones this doesn't work, which means BE doesn't work.

Just because it works on your phone doesn't mean it works on Spadas or the hundred or so other phones it's not working on.

That's true but it also means if it's not working on Spadas phone, it doesn't mean it's not working on everybodies phone. Frankly I don't care if BE isn't working when taking a screenshot. BE is working on the phone and that's what's meant to be.

Be honest, 90% of issues reported on this forum are probably individual problems and not very common. Let's say 50 or 100 people have the same problem, which looks a lot but in reality it's only 0.1%-0.05%. Maybe that's why Sony don't take too much effort in fixing the problems.

I think they will come in action when they get a lot of returns or complaints from sellers and providers.

The biggest thing that annoys me is the battery life and Wifi's weak signal problem and Sony is not doing anything about it

i fully understood what are you trying to point out! but this forum was formed for those who have a non working BE on their phones. mine is not working OUT OF THE BOX!

and we are not just about 0.1%. definitely there are more people out there who just didnt notice it! my brother has the XS and its not working as well.

if its working on yours brother, then good for you. and thanks for your comments but those are not the comments we all (non BE working users) need.

Dear Garret!

What would you say, if you belonged to the other 10% who have bugs/issues with their Xperias on latest ICS? I'm sure you wouldn't be saying the same. You can not blame Sony's incompetence as consumer's "individual problem". As you know, like yourself, I and others too have paid Sony, whatever the price, for a fully functional/working phone, so we all equally deserve to have a bug free ICS (at least wrt features advertised by sony itself like the bravia engine or camera quick launch).

It is nice that you don't have these issues, but that doesn't imply that Sony must sit back and relax or think they have done a good job! We are just asking for any possible fix/solution for these software related issues from sony support, and I hope you or any body else (without issues) wouldn't mind that!

What a pathetic thought you have there in your mind, buddy. We have the very right to complain if something is not right with the product we put our trust in. By the way, my mBE works fine, I can clearly see the difference on the images when the BE is turned on and off, which is very image quality improving. also took screenshots of the BE-on and BE-off images and had them viewed on my PC, the former was awesome. My Xperia S's build number is .45 on ICS.

then after a few days of waiting.

he'll come up with amazing answers or tips like, try performing a hard reset! treating us like we're high school students who don't even know what an APK file is!

Man, no offense but, if you can't help us. Go and look for someone there in your office who could!

It'll be such a shame if this is the best Sony could do.

hi there johan,

after a few days of reading comments, answering polls and testing. we have finally come to a conclusion that UNLOCKING the bootloader breaks the BE on ICS but not on GB.

reading the terms and conditions for unlocking the BL, nothing was mentioned about losing or breaking or even a possibility of broken BE.

we have already done your job of knowing what the issue is, NOW GIVE US A FIX!

It looks like some people don't understand my point.

I was trying to say that the reason why Sony isn't very helpful, is because most of the issues are uncommon. I was looking at it from an business perspective. I know some resellers and they say Xperia S has low return rate, so economical wise it's a good phone.

I and others too have paid Sony, whatever the price, for a fully functional/working phone, so we all equally deserve to have a bug free ICS

You're right, but name one smartphone company who delivers a fully bug free phone. They all have issues, read the forums.

Don't get me wrong. I have issues too and I hope Sony will fix it otherwise I won't buy a Sony again, but we have to put it in perpective.
