Packet Data not working to my Xperia S (LT26i) Handset

I bought Sony Xperia S (LT26i) handset two weeks ago. I'm from Bangladesh and my network provider is GrameenPhone (2G). I configured APN setting manulaly. But It not working. I thought that it was configuration problem. I went to our customer point for resolving this problem. They checked all settings and told me all settings right. But when I am going to browse website then browser show 'no connection'.

Please review my setting:

Data Enable = yes (mark)

Name: GP-INTERNET

APN: gpinternet

MCC: 470

MNC: 01

APN type: default, supl (also tried to internet and not set)

and all other settings are default (Not set)

Network Mode: GSM only (also tried to WCDMA(preferred)/GSM)

Finally I selected this APN and restarted my handset. But It is not working.

Please Please Please Please help me.

I am being very disappointed and I am very tired.

Thanks,

Repon Hossain

to start with 2G it's quite slow and perhaps you are not using a micro SIM card but a trimmed SIM card? also check your network's coverage (settings > about phone > status> signal strength

is Sony spying on users in this forum?

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes - you are absolutely right. I don't use micro SIM but I use trimmed SIM card.

I went to my friend who use Sony Xperia P. He use packet data internet without any problem. I took his SIM card and put it in my Sony Xperia S handset. After turning on my handset packet data is working good.

Thank you again uliwooly.

I am now happy.
