Phone stuck on the Xperia screen

Phone died so I put it on charge this morning, but it's been stuck on the 'Xperia' load screen all day and I can't turn it on or off without removing the battery. I ran SUS and updated it but that had no effect. Can anyone help?

remove the SIM card > repair once more with SUS > turn on your phone > wait couple of minutes, sometimes it takes a while for it to turn on/start after an update or after it has been repaired

Hmm now it doesn't show up in SUS, something about the USB not being recognised?

interesting, restart your PC > disable your firewall and antivirus

make sure to charge your phone for 30min or so

Still the same problem, phone doesn't show up in the SUS

is the phone "off" if not press and hold power & volume up at the same time for 8 seconds or so

Sorry, It worked, had to switch to another laptop and run SUS and factory reset. Very strange, but thanks for the help.
