Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

I have the same problem and its really annoying when you have such a great screen.
my one is like a yelleo smugh in the bottom middle of the screen and I still haven't got the ICS update.
heres my story. i got a week 11 hanset and after a couple of months i noticed yellow stains at the bottom of the screen when it warmed up in my pocket..to be honest the whites never did look all that brilliant. i sent mine to sbe extranet on the 8th of june and it is still waiting components.this is not good enough so i have asked for it to be returned and o2 are replacing it.i am not having another xperia s as im not confident that it will not happen again.i have chosen a HTC ONE S with ICS already installed (another short fall of xperia s)not sure if i will have another sony product tbh.. shame as the screen is one of the best ive seen for resolution.
Sony refuses to fix yellow tint screen issue!
I've bought my Sony xperia s during my trip in UK and when I came back to Israel I have found that my phone has yellow tint issue.
When I came to Sony service center they asked me to bring proof of purchase and refuse to fix this FACTORY DEFECT without it.
I've lost my proof of purchase and can't restore it since I don't even remember the name or the address of the shop where I bought the phone.
The situation is that I have Sony branded new phone with proper IMEI and SN which has officially announced FACTORY DEFECT and Sony refuses to fix.
In stated case proof of purchase is absolutely needless since the fact of purchase is not related to existent of FACTORY DEFECT.
I'm kindly ask to assist me in resolving this issue since my communications with local service center and UK Sony support currently does not bring any result.
Won't work.
You'll need a proof of purchase, no matter what the sort of defect is, whether it is a factory defect or any other.
SONY does not give an international warranty, and so in my case, washed their hands off for a phone manufactured in Denmark, and with the phone in India.
Even I had imagined that since it's an inherent problem with the phone, it should be repaired, but no such luck.
Unless you can procure that receipt, and are in or can ship it to UK (where the phone was purchased, at your own cost), you just have an expensive piece of yellow screen.
Factory defects should be fixed without any need of confirmation and proof of services.
Sony should be responsable for their products and not just leave customer with defected phone because of absence of some kind of piece of paper.
Well, till they change that policy, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
For a flagship phone, and for a heavily loss making company, and for a factory defect inherent from the very beginning, they're making it extremely difficult to do anything about it.
The service centre even refused to service it at my cost, saying they were not authorized to open it.
Oh well, should consider the warranty a lot more carefully in future. Just thought since it was sony, it was unlikely to go wrong. Wiser now.
that is why I'm bumping this thread - as sony customer I'm upset of current repair policy and find it unfair in case of factory defects.
Unlikely they'll do anything about it.
It's different between countries. In Germany i got a completly new one. I told them that i'am not agree in waiting about 3 weeks till my phone comes back repaired. And so.. 3 days and a brand new!!!
I hope u get it solved
they won't do anything if they think that customers agree with their policy and they are acting correct and fair, but now they know that there is at least one person (me) which finds their repair policy unfair in cases when fix is required because of FACTORY DEFECT
