Bravia KDL-40EX723 can’t get any enhanced apps (ie Netflix)

I recently moved into a new apartment with a Sony Bravia tv and was disappointed to find that I can’t seem to get any apps like Netflix or even amazon prime video on it. I’ve registered the device and gone through all the steps, but no apps have appeared on the tv and I’m kind of at a loss as to what to do now. Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Have you checked that your TV has the latest software update? 

This should fix specific problems and allow you to access the newest features.  More details on how to perform this here.
