Can you connect the KDL-52V5500 Bravia to the internet wirelessly?

The manual only shows a standard wired connection, but I don't have my broadband coming into the living room so this isn't very convenient. Has any one used a wireless USB adapter, for example?

I don't think that the V5500 supports the new wireless dongles.  They are overpriced and likely to become obsolete anyway.

Either use powerline ethernet adaptors, or buy a wireless bridge (sometimes called gaming bridge), or buy a cheap second wireless access point that is capable of bridged mode i.e. it connects to your main wireless access point as a client, and shares the connection via its ethernet ports.

Of the above, I think that powerline ethernet is the simplest solution.  While all the above options may become outdated they will work with any device that has an ethernet port - which the proprietary Sony USB dongles will not,

No. You have just DLNA connection to stream music, photo... from PC over WMP11 or 12 for example
